Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Initial estimates for hardscaping, landscaping and general contracting work are free, with no contract and no obligation attached. You get an honest number from the people who will actually do the work, so you can decide what makes sense for your budget.

How do I get an estimate?

Call or send us a message with a rough idea of what you are after. We will ask a few questions, book a time to come out and look at the site, then follow up with a written breakdown covering labour, materials and a realistic timeline.

Can I give input on the design of my yard?

That is the point of the consultation. We walk the property with you, listen to how you want to use the space, and adjust the plan until the layout, materials and finishes are what you pictured. Nothing gets ordered before you sign off.

Are you insured?

Elite Hardscapes is licensed, bonded and fully insured in Washington State. Every crew member is trained on the equipment they run, and the coverage is current on every job we take.

What's the difference between hardscapes and softscapes?

Softscape is the living part of a landscape — grass, shrubs, trees, flower beds and the soil they grow in.

Hardscape is everything built: pavers, block, stone, concrete and timber. Patios, walkways, driveways, retaining walls, steps and outdoor kitchens are all hardscape. Most good yards are a balance of the two.

How do I care for freshly installed sod?

New sod needs consistent water to root. For the first two weeks, run short cycles four to six times a day — about five minutes each — keeping the soil below damp but never soggy. Stay off it while it knits in.

Around the two-week mark it is ready for its first mow. After that you can cut back to deeper, less frequent watering, which is what encourages roots to chase moisture downward.

When is the best time of year to build in Spokane?

Hardscape work runs from early spring through late fall, and we can often keep building into November if the ground has not frozen. Sod and planting do best in spring and early autumn when it is cool enough for roots to establish. Booking a few months ahead usually gets you the window you want.

Will my patio or wall survive the freeze-thaw cycle?

If the base is built properly, yes. Most hardscape failures in the Inland Northwest come from a shallow or poorly compacted base that traps water, which then freezes and lifts the surface. We excavate to depth, compact road mix in lifts and grade everything to drain away from your foundation.
