Pavers give you a hard surface that flexes with the ground instead of cracking across it, and a single damaged unit can be lifted and swapped instead of the whole slab being torn out. In a climate that moves as much as ours, that matters.

The base is the whole job
We excavate to depth for the load the surface will carry — deeper for a driveway than a garden path — lay geotextile over the subgrade, then build up crushed base in lifts and plate-compact each one. Bedding sand is screeded flat, pavers are set, edge restraint is pinned and the joints are filled with polymeric sand and locked in.
Skipping any of those steps saves a day and costs you the patio five years later. We do not skip them.

Pattern, colour and edge detail
Herringbone locks up hardest and is what we recommend under vehicles. Running bond and ashlar read calmer on a patio. A soldier or sailor course around the perimeter frames the whole thing and hides the cuts.
We will show you what each looks like at the size of your actual space before you commit, and we will tell you when a pattern is going to cost you a lot in cuts for very little visual gain.
