Spokane summers are dry enough that hand-watering a lawn is a losing battle by mid-July. A properly zoned sprinkler system waters early, evenly and only where it needs to — and usually cuts water use compared with a hose and a guess.

Zoning and head layout
Sun-baked front lawn, shaded side yard and mulched planting beds all want different amounts of water at different times, so they go on separate zones. Within each zone heads are spaced head-to-head for even coverage, matched precipitation-rate nozzles are used so one corner is not drowning while another browns off, and heads are kept off hardscape.
We also check static pressure and flow before designing, because a system laid out for pressure you do not have will never perform.
What goes in
A typical installation includes:
- Backflow prevention device to protect your potable supply
- Zone valves in accessible boxes
- Pop-up spray or rotor heads on the lawn
- Drip line or bubblers through planting beds
- Smart Wi-Fi controller with rain and seasonal adjustment
- Sleeving under driveways and patios where required
Trenching without wrecking the yard
On established lawns we pull lines with a vibratory plow where we can, which leaves a narrow slit that heals in a couple of weeks instead of open trench across the whole yard. Where trenching is necessary, sod is lifted, set aside and put back.
Utilities get located before anything goes in the ground.
